Where'd the Time Go?
“Time is on my side, yes it is”
Time may be on the side of the Rolling Stones (certainly Keith Richards) but for a middle age business owner with two kids and a new puppy – time is not an ally. Santa Claus came early this year, gracing the Bostic household with a new German Shepherd puppy. It has left Mama and Daddy Bostic wondering what they ever did to make Santa dislike them so. It’s been a challenge to say the least.
I thought a blog would be easy to keep current, yet here I am over a month from the last post. It’s not that I was intentionally negligent, time simply got away from me. “I’ll write one up tomorrow” turned into “I’ll definitely do it next week.” By the time Thanksgiving was over, several weeks had passed since I posted. Looking back on it, I wonder where did the time go?
I’m sure we all ask that same question as time goes on. When I was younger it seemed like the holiday season was an eternity. You’d get out of school for Thanksgiving, go back for a few weeks and then have Christmas break. Now, I am worried about having enough time to finish everything I need to before year-end.
Ferris Bueller said it best: “life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” I’m as guilty as anyone with falling into a routine. Days around our household seem to blur together – especially when school is in session. It seems we live our lives based on deadlines and wishes of others. We only get one life to live – so why not live it the way we want?
My New Year’s resolution is to make sure I update the blog at least twice per month. Happy Holidays!
